Hello everyone, I’m with you again! )
Here at last I have the opportunity to post my next model. I assembled this tank back in May, but then I faced one problem, and empty basket behind the tower that looked not quite naturally, so about a month was spent in search of odds and ends for her. The result was a complete failure of this task, since in model shops except boxes and liners for tanks from World War II and the Great Patriotic War nothing else was found… I dropped Internet immediately because of how our mail works… bearing in mind how trunk of the BMP-2A was getting to me during nearly 4 months. I recalled that I has in mind such a little thing called the imagination, and it was decided to use it with maximum dedication.
Just recently I completed fine finishing of the whole tank, although I think, with increasing of my skills I will introduce some additions. I tried to implement the model on the principle of “modest and tasteful”, also I tried to know the measure of all things.
Overview of the tank model construction process
About the very construction I can say one thing, the model is good in the assembly, there were no total gashes and reworks, and the concerns expressed by me in one of the early reports confirmed only for about 25%… I used not a lot of putty, no, it’s not properly written, I used putty in very small quantities, which is not typical for “Zvezda” (though perhaps I was lucky with the model), you know, the opinion I expressed earlier that “Zvezda” is trying to rehabilitate in its new moldings became a little confirmed. The only the problem area that patted my nerves was a gap that emerged during docking body with a bath which I barely solved, but still the joint is a little visible… There were no special troubles in the process of construction or in the process of painting. By the way, purchased baiting was not particularly handy, indicating sufficient detailing of the kit. I won’t go into all the details, because almost every modeler has a this tank, although if there are any questions please contact me, I’m willing to answer them.
Additions and alterations introduced into Abrams M1A2 tank mode
Well I will not beat around the bush, let’s talk about supplements… Bad Browning machine gun was replaced with the purchases by “Academy” (http://karopka.ru/community/user/13544/?MODEL=266033), by the way, one machine gun with ammunition is collected from 15 items, the design is super, the antenna is made of a thick fishing line (flexible and not brittle), observation equipment and triplexes are cut from the CD, into the basket behind the tower I put cans and various small things, namely steel wire made of a thick thread, optional ZIP, a backpack, a couple of twists, one of toilet paper, and the other from the ordinary paper, a little of stained details, well, and non-standard decks by “Tamiya” for armored overseas vehicles, I didn’t like the factory ones at all.
I was painting everything with “Zvezda” and a little of “Modelist” – a brush. Wash – watercolor. (I guess you’ll swore at me after these words)))))
Photos of model tank Abrams M1A2
Photos are realized in 2 versions, early one without supplements – in nature, and with the additions – at home. In order to avoid future violent criticism, such as – oh, why is the model just a little dusty or why there are no chippings and abrasions, holes from bullets, shells and ion beam, in my defense I will say that the tank is after a planned major repairs and repainting, at the moment it was on the test track and passed running tests and firing, so it hasn’t become dirty yet, just a bit dusty.
P.S. I wanted to post the model yesterday, but circumstances in the form of a bad working of the Internet didn’t allow me to do so …
Binding is Iraq, 2005.
