Beginning of the 19th century in the United States was marked by the construction of small vessels with an oblique rigged, called “schooners”. They combine excellent maneuverability and a kind of elegance. Virginia was founded in 1819 by him in the same year launched. Equipped with swivel carronade, she developed a high speed and was used in the chase and interceptions as the Coast Guard ship.

My first model from the tree. Model going with minimal alterations. Alter the sails of the set (there were terrible quality) therefore stayed the hole by stitching. Material fly out of the box, the model is coated with linseed oil.

  1. Hello Leo!

Lovely boat you got there! Man I wish I had the skill to build a beauty like this. I was wondering if you added any aftermarket details, any stains on the wood, as well as why you added nails on the side of the hull and on the railings. (Those little silver dots I’m seeing)

    Thanks,

    Karl
